Who We Are

David Meale

David Meale is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Candra Business Advisers.

David's clients in the professional services sector have included Minter Ellison, Clayton Utz, Ashurst, Herbert Smith Freehills, Sparke Helmore, Norton Rose Fulbright, Corrs, PwC, KPMG, Jacobs and talented people from those organisations. In the corporate sector, his clients have included Telstra, Optus, NAB and ANZ.

David is an experienced executive coach, has a broad consulting practice in the professional services sector and has been a regular presenter and facilitator on leadership and other development programs for lawyers and other technical experts. He has a special interest in helping leading professionals develop beyond their technical expertise, to become more effective leaders in their organisations and more effective developers of client relationships. He has worked extensively with chairmen, managing partners, practice heads, practising partners, partner-candidates and senior shared services executives in professional services firms.

For indigenous organisations, his work has focused on advice on ownership and governance arrangements; economic development initiatives; strategy development; assisting with developing relationships and in negotiations with stakeholders in the public, private and third sectors; leadership and organisational development; facilitation; traditional owner engagement and conflict management.

David has practised law for more than 30 years, was a partner of a leading Australian law firm for a decade and was staff partner of its Sydney office for eight years - a period in which the firm more than doubled in size and underwent very significant change.

David graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours and the University Medal. He was certified as a Professional Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute in 2007.

Amanda Milin

Amanda is a Director and Principal Consultant at Candra Business Advisers.

Amanda began her career as a corporate lawyer working with some of Australia’s most successful and high-profile organisations. She has extensive experience in senior sales roles, in leading cross-functional teams and as a senior executive providing input into strategy, people and culture and financial management in technology and professional services organisations.

Some of the organisations that Amanda has supported include Consolidated Press Holdings, Qantas, IAG, Zurich Financial Services, AON, Humm Group, Amazon Web Services, MinterEllison, Optus, PepsiCo, South Australian Land Services, Woodside, BHP, Big Red Group, ABC and Federal and State government clients including Services Australia, NSW Rural Fire Services, SAFECOM and the Department of Education.

Amanda graduated from ANU, Canberra with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and an Honours Degree in Law. Amanda also has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW
